India's largest passenger car maker, Maruti Suzuki, has officially confirmed the production and launch timeline for its highly anticipated first born-electric SUV, the eVX. Slated to make its commercial debut in the Indian market in the first quarter of 2026, the eVX represents a major technological leap for the brand.
Unlike previous conversion EVs, the Maruti Suzuki eVX is built from the ground up on a brand-new, dedicated skateboard EV platform co-developed with Toyota. This layout pushes the wheels to the corners, providing an exceptionally spacious cabin and a low center of gravity for sporty road handling.
"The eVX represents our long-term commitment to sustainable and accessible electric mobility in India. With co-developed skateboard architectures, we are bringing global standards to Indian buyers."
Inside, the eVX features a premium dual-screen setup, wireless smartphone connectivity, a panoramic sunroof, and Level 2 ADAS capabilities. Stay tuned as we bring you live track tests from Maruti's test facility soon!
